HIV & AIDS 40million people worldwide have been diagnosed with HIV since 1981 when it was first recognised, and it can lead to AIDS. About one third of these people have died.
Symptoms may include high temperature, fever, fatigue, skin rash, muscle pains, headaches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
These symptoms don't always necessarily mean HIV, so don't panic.
HIV also reduces the effectiveness of the immune system.
There is medication to suppress the symptoms but unfortunately no cure.
Most people will experience symptoms within the first couple of months of infection. |
