‘It all seems to be about the money…’

This may be the first time in your life that you have had complete control of your finances and you may have no idea about budgeting.

Coming to university, moving in with a load of people your age with no "adults" around, having a large sum of money just deposited into your account - it can be hard to resist going on a wild shopping spree or getting completely wrecked at the most expensive club you can get into.

Learning to budget your money from the start will ensure that you don't get halfway through the term and have none of your loan left. Here are a few pointers to set you off in the right direction.

Remember that you are at university to get a degree! However these are supposed to be the best years of your life. So with a little budgeting you should have enough money to pay off all the essential things with some left over to go and have some fun.
